Can you share the main updates or achievements Alishan Green Energy has made in the past year?

Certainly. Last year was a highly progressive year in terms of new products development and expansion of our encapsulation facility. We have always been focused on the continuous advancements of products and their reliability. Last year we saw a total shift from EVA to EPE requirements and challenges with UV and moisture induced degradation of TOPCOn modules. To overcome initial phase bottleneck with reliability of these modules, we had fine tuned the EVA/POE ratio on our EPE films with in-house R&D focused on DOE which helped us to understand the material behaviour at a microscopic level. We are happy to share that Alishan EPE is considered a highly effective product when it comes to sustaining extreme conditions like 3XIEC for Topcon modules. Our reach has gone far to Tier 1 and top customers in India as we had quickly optimized EPE quality requirements for Indian module makers. On the other hand, this gave us a huge boost to expand our capacity to 6.6 GW now.

What new technology trends is your company focusing on to improve your products for the Indian market?

As the technology shift has been made from PERC to Topcon, we have launched three new products for ensuring the suitable combination of encapsulants and giving a range of solutions to combat degradation concerns. Alishan EPE for Topcon cells has been a major development for us and has been rigorously tested at many customers’ end. Apart from this, we offer Alishan low acid EVA as a back encapsulant and Alishan EPE-DC as a top layer for Topcon. We have unlocked the down conversion technology for reducing the UVID concern, but still we are willing to improve on the power gain part.

How do you plan for long-term growth and competition while expanding Alishan Green Energy in India?

Our versatile range of products and their quality have paved the way for us in India as a reliability partner for most of the module makers. We believe that consistency is the key to growth at this stage and have made our fundamentals strong in that regard. We have been able to implement stringent quality standards backed by NABL approvals. At the same time, customer support is one of the many other aspects where we can outperform our competitors. We are continuously evolving and improving with the help from joint activities, our R&D capability and a dedicated team.

What special features or technologies make your company’s products different from others in India?

Alishan products are well researched and planned before the demand arises in the Indian market. We

Take enough time to understand the working mechanisms and challenges of upcoming solar cell technologies. This helps us in not only developing the suitable packaging solution but also to be ahead of our competitors in terms of reliability. In terms of superiority, Alishan EPE for Topcon ensures 3XIEC requirements, Alishan low acid EVA ensures up to 4 times lower acid generation than conventional EVA and Alishan EPE-DC converts the harmful UV rays into usable frequency to ensure minimal UV impact and at the same time improve the power of the module.

What new products, plans, or partnerships can we expect from Alishan Green Energy next year?

On the expansion front, we are going to be at 10 GW by next year. We are exploring new products that will be suitable for BC technology and further Tandem cells. Currently we are in talks with a couple of module makers to join them as partners of Encapsulant business or to book the capacity for them. We will still be majorly operating from our current manufacturing sites but have plans to set up dedicated facilities in North and West regions of India.
