Bahrain has inaugurated its largest electricity transmission station as part of efforts to strengthen national infrastructure and support sustainable development. The new 400 kV Al Jasra power station was officially inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, representing His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Al Jasra station is a major milestone for Bahrainโ€™s power transmission network and is expected to improve the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply across the country. The project reflects Bahrainโ€™s focus on modernizing essential services and meeting growing energy demand through stronger grid capacity.

The inauguration also aligns with a royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad to designate 2026 as the โ€œYear of Isa Al Kabeerโ€. The initiative honours His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, recognized as the founder of the modern state and a key leader in Bahrainโ€™s institutional development.
