Fujiyama Power Systems Limited, a leading Indian provider of rooftop solar solutions, has officially commissioned its new 1 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration took place on January 21, 2026, with senior officials from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) attending, including Mr. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, and Mr. Rajesh Kulhari, Joint Secretary.
The new plant was developed with an investment of ₹300 crore, funded through a combination of internal resources and debt. Remarkably, the project was completed in just six months, a pace much faster than typical industry standards for similar facilities. This swift execution also helped the company save on budgeted costs.
The Dadri facility marks a key step in Fujiyama’s strategy to strengthen its presence across the solar value chain. By producing solar cells in-house, the company aims to reduce reliance on imported components, improve supply-chain security, and achieve better cost control. The entire 1 GW capacity will be used for Fujiyama’s own solar panel manufacturing operations. The plant will specifically produce Mono Perc DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) solar cells, which will allow the company to cater to consumers seeking government subsidies tied to domestically manufactured components.
Currently, Fujiyama operates a total of 1.6 GW of solar panel manufacturing capacity, with 1.2 GW already based in Dadri. Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director, highlighted that because the company focuses mainly on the Indian domestic market, with minimal export exposure, this integrated facility provides protection from global trade uncertainties and tariff disruptions. He added that the facility positions the company to profitably deliver end-to-end solar solutions as it continues to expand across India.
With nearly three decades of experience, Fujiyama has built a wide portfolio of over 500 products, including solar panels, inverters, and battery systems. The company primarily operates in the B2C segment, reaching over one million customers through a distribution network of more than 7,500 channel partners across 23 states.
Looking ahead, Fujiyama is planning a major expansion in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, which is expected to add 2 GW of capacity for solar panels, inverters, and lithium-ion batteries by the fourth quarter of the 2026 fiscal year. This move underlines the company’s commitment to strengthening its position in India’s growing rooftop solar market and supporting the country’s renewable energy transition.
This new facility at Dadri represents a significant milestone for Fujiyama Power Systems and reflects the rapid pace at which India’s domestic solar manufacturing sector is evolving.
