POWERGRID Issues Tender For 400 kV GIS Substation Linked To Vizag Green Hydrogen Projects

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has issued a tender related to the establishment of a 400 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) under Package SS-148T. The tender is part of the transmission system planned for the proposed Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia projects in the Vizag area of Andhra Pradesh under Phase-I. The project will be implemented through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route, and the current tender is meant for pre-bid tie-up activities before the submission of the Request for Proposal (RfP) bid by POWERGRID to BPC.

According to the tender details, the scope of work involves a 400 kV GIS substation to be set up at the 765/400 kV Pendurthi (Vizag) GIS substation, which will support upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia developments in the region. Although the project is linked to Andhra Pradesh, the location of work has been mentioned as โ€œAll Over India,โ€ indicating that associated activities or sourcing may span multiple locations.
