ACME Solar Holdings Limited has received a Letter of Award (LOA) for a 220 MW solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Madhya Pradesh. The project has been awarded by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) and will be developed at the Morena Solar Park. It was part of a larger 440 MW tender floated by RUMSL.

The project was secured through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. An e-reverse auction was conducted in September 2025, where ACME Solar won the capacity by quoting a tariff of Rs. 2.764 per unit. The project will have a tenure of 25 years from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The scheduled commercial operation date has been set as December 31, 2027.

Under the technical requirements, the plant must maintain a maximum annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 35%. The project also requires the supply of four hours of peak power daily, divided into two-hour blocks in the morning and evening. The plant must ensure 95% annual availability for this peak supply. For the evening peak demand, power will be supplied using energy stored in the battery system from the solar plant. For the morning peak, the procurer will provide free charging energy during night hours to charge the battery.

As the solar park developer, RUMSL will provide the required land and evacuation infrastructure above 33 kV. The project will benefit from reduced GST rates and must comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM List-I) as per government norms. The PPA will be signed with RUMSL and the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL).

ACME Solar Holdings Limited is one of India’s leading integrated renewable energy companies. The company has a total portfolio of 8,071 MW, which includes solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects. Out of this, 2,966 MW is already operational, while 5,105 MW is under construction. The under-construction capacity also includes around 17 GWh of battery energy storage systems.

With its in-house engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities, ACME Solar aims to complete the project on time and maintain strong operational performance. The new award further strengthens the company’s presence in Madhya Pradesh and supports the state’s renewable energy growth plans.
