The South Central Railway has invited e-tenders for the installation of rooftop solar power plants at the Wagon Workshop in Guntupalli. The project aims to set up a total capacity of 980 KWp across different rooftops and sheds within the workshop and its residential colony. The estimated value of the project is around ₹5.03 crore, showing the railway’s strong focus on adopting clean and sustainable energy solutions in its operations.

The scope of work includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of multiple on-grid rooftop solar plants. The tender covers the installation of 100 KWp units using Mono PERC bifacial crystalline solar modules along with MPPT technology. It also includes 60 KWp and 40 KWp systems with similar specifications. The project requires power conditioning units and pure sine wave inverters to ensure stable and efficient power output.

Apart from the main solar systems, the contractor will also install supporting infrastructure. This includes a water sprinkling system for cleaning solar panels and microprocessor-based analyzers for performance monitoring. Extensive electrical works are also part of the project. These include laying of 120 sq. mm and 95 sq. mm LTUG cables and excavation of cable trenches in different types of soil to connect the systems safely and efficiently.
