L&T’s PT&D Arm Secures EPC Orders for Grid Projects in India and Middle East

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical of Larsen & Toubro has secured a fresh batch of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) orders for establishing critical electricity grid infrastructure in India and overseas markets.

In India, the business vertical has won an order for the design, supply, and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) in the Durgapur–Raniganj–Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal. The scope of work also includes associated transmission line segments featuring advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers. The grid modernisation initiatives are aimed at delivering a stable voltage profile and enhancing the reliability of power networks supporting infrastructure and industrial growth in the region.

Expanding its international footprint, PT&D has also secured turnkey orders from key utilities in the Middle East for the construction of five substations and more than 250 km of transmission lines. The projects, spread across three countries in the region, involve voltage levels of up to 500 kV. One of the mandates additionally includes the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.
