The recent tender auctions of 1200 MW by SECI saw an active participation from 6 developers. Ayana Renewable (CDC), Renew, Azure & Mahindra Susten won the entire bidded capacity. Avaada Energy won 50MW of the 350MW bidded capacity.

The table above shows details about the bidders and the quoted tariffs. The tender was oversubscribed with bidders bidding for a total capacity of 1800 MW. against the available capacity of 1200 MW.

The solar tender by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) saw discovery of tariff rates as low as INR 2.54 (USD 0.036/EUR 0.032) per kWh. The tender for 1200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects (phase IV) across India was launched in February.

The electricity sector attracted the largest share of energy investments in 2017, sustained by robust spending on grids, exceeding the oil and gas industry for the second year in row, as the energy sector moves toward greater electrification, according to the International Energy Agency’s latest review of global energy spending.
