Let’s begin with a glimpse of your Longi’s presence and offerings in India?

LONGi Solar, a world leading manufacturer of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules. The company has focused on p-mono for 18 years and is today the largest supplier of mono-crystalline wafers in the world, with total assets above $5.2 billion, and shipped approximately 6.5GW product in 2017. With strong focus on R&D, production and sales& marketing of mono-crystalline silicon products, LONGi Solar is committed to provide better LCOE solutions and promoting worldwide adoption of mono-crystalline technology. The mono PERC cell efficiency of module got the world record, reach up to 23.60%.

What have been some of the recent developments at your organisation?

The rapid development of LONGi Group is support by the strong core capacity in technology. Along with the continuous introduction of LONGi’s high-quality mono-crystalline modules to the market and business partners, the product value concept - ‘high efficiency, high reliability and high yield’ has also been conveyed. For years, it invests more than 5% of revenue into research and development. From 2013 to 2015, the investment even reached nearly 7%, and in 2016 it was as high as USD 83 million.3)

Tell us a bit about the recent technology advancements in your sector?

HiMo-3 is the latest technology of LONGi Solar. The company showcased its third-generation product at the SNEC (2018) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition& Conference at the Shanghai New International Expo 18Center. LONGi Solar’s Hi-MO series have led the industry in technology development of monocrystalline PERC with high power, high yield and low LID. Hi-MO3 combines advanced monocrystalline PERC cell technology and bifacial, half-cut module construction to provide energy producers with a brand new choice to reduce LCOE.

What are your growth plans for the Indian market? What are the milestones you wish to achieve by the end of this fiscal?

LONGi has already made a progress in developing the India market, it has launch of branch office and cell and several module plants in India. Furthermore, the company will catch the opportunity to promote its bifacial PERC modules. The company has plans to reach 45GW mono-crystalline wafer production capacity by 2020.

What have been the latest trends in demand for your products & services in India? Where do you see the next demand growth coming from?

On May 28th, 2018, LONGi showcased its third-generation product - the Hi-MO3 half-cut bifacial PERC module - at the SNEC (2018) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition & Conference at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. India plans to install 100GW of solar energy by 2022 in accordance with the JNNSM. Therefore, the efficiency of solar modules is vital to the increase of power generation. This would be a great opportunity for LONGi to promote its mono bifacial PERC modules.
