Sanelite Solar Modules Are Now Bis Certified!

Last year, the Ministry of Renewable Energy (MNRE), with a view to ensure quality of solar PV equipment, notified “Solar Photovoltaic, Systems, Devices and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017.” This order made it mandatory for any manufacturer, involved in manufacturing, storing for sale, selling or distributing crystalline silicon terrestrial PV modules (Si wafer based), thin-film terrestrial PV modules (a-Si, CiGs and CdTe), PV module (Si wafer and Thin film), power converters for use in PV power system, utility—interconnected PV inverters, storage battery, to obtain registration for concerned Indian Standards as specified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Subsequently recently, the MNRE has issued a memorandum concerning the importance of following BIS certification when it comes to quality of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. According to the memorandum, “The lenders involved in financing solar PV power projects must insist for BIS certification regarding quality of solar modules and not whether the supply of solar modules is from the Bloomberg Tier-I List.” Prior to the implementation of the BIS certification as a compulsory requirement there was no uniform and standard means to ascertain the quality of the modules supplied in India. Therefore, the Bloomberg Tier-I List was followed as recognized standards by the lenders.

With the approval of Bureau of Indian Standards, Sanelite Solar now confirms with it consistent showcase of quality products. Being one of the first few companies who are BIS certified, the company now stands in front line of the PV manufacturing space in India.

The company is a leading manufacturer of premium solar PV modules. The PV portfolio spans from capacity 40Wp to 335Wp to various customizations for different applications. The state-of-the art production line is carefully designed ultra-modern line with high efficiency automatic laminator and auto-tabber & stringer machines.

Being a channel partner of GEDA and MNRE and with growing market of domestic solar rooftop in the state of Gujarat, the company channelized the efforts through one-of-its- kind franchisee network. Over past 3 years, Sanelite has grown its franchisee network in Gujarat to more than 25 in numbers, and it’s still growing. In a similar way, for channelizing the sale of PV modules and other products, the company is expanding its dealership network to reach the farthest corners of the country. The dealer network shall be utilized for the sale of some innovative products like Solar DIY kits for Solar Rooftops and Solar Pumps in addition to our high-efficiency PV modules.
