Amplus buys SunEdison's rooftop solar assets

US-based solar company SunEdison, which filed for bankruptcy in April, has sold its Indian on-site solar power assets to Amplus Energy Solutions.

The Indian firm is backed by US-based ISquared Capital, which invested $150 million in the firm in 2015. Amplus owns and manages over 30 MW of operational and under-construction commercial and industrial on-site solar plants.

Amplus said it has now acquired 7 MW in rooftop solar assets from SunEdison and plans to add its own remote monitoring and in-house data collection systems to the installations. In January the company commissioned a 4 MW rooftop installation at a Yamaha Motors factory in Uttar Pradesh.
