State governments have started encashing bank guarantees provided by SunEdison for various solar power projects as the world's largest renewable energy company's bankruptcy filing in the US has started to impact its projects in India.

The Jharkhand government has decided to encash SunEdison's bank guarantee for a 150 MW solar project the company won in March even as most projects of the company, including those in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, too have come to a standstill.
