Let’s begin with a glimpse of your Goodwe’s presence and offerings in India?

GoodWe is a leading, strategically-thinking enterprise which focuses on research and manufacturing of PV inverters and energy storage solutions. With 12 GW installed in more than 100 countries, GoodWe solar inverters have been largely used in residential, commercial rooftops, industrial and utility scale systems, ranging from 1.0 to 80kW. GoodWe inverters offer reliable operation and excellent performance and are well recognized by customers worldwide. MT Series string inverters (50-60kW) are most popular for Indian C&I solar market, which can be successfully deployed on large scale commercial rooftops and ground- mounted solar PV systems and can help further reduce installation costs while its power boost function provides higher yield and a faster ROI. It is very proud that we have worked with some of the most reputed EPCs/Developers on many large-scale C&I projects, ranging from 5MW to 20MW, such as TATA Power, Bosch, and Sterling & Wilson, etc.

What have been some of the recent developments at your organisation?

GoodWe’s philosophy is to always create win-win partnerships by identifying and integrating the most advanced components and techniques available while offering an unparalleled after-sales service. A professional team of 10 authorized engineers can perform on-site inspections, testing and debugging and providing repair or replacement if necessary, using the latest techniques to maximize inverter performance while minimizing production or process downtime. There will be more engineers joining us in 2019. GoodWe’s Mumbai service support office is located at 1202 G-Square Business Park, Sector 30A, Opp. Sanpada Railway Stn., Vashi, Navi Mumbai 400703.

Our production capacity in 2018 reached approx. 4 GW. In 2019, we are expecting to triple it to 15 GW, as we will launch a brand-new production site, which expects a manufacturing capacity of approx. 10 GW manufacturing capacity, which will be the largest string inverter manufacture in the world. The proportion of each series of products in our total production capacity remains flexible and can easily adjust depending on the market demand on order of our clients. In near future, according to our plans, we will have two production facilities, one in Suzhou New District and another in Guangde County, Anhui Province. Nearly $90 million has been invested on it, $50 million out of which will be allocated to the upgrading of our Headquarters in the New District of Suzhou.

Tell us a bit about the recent technology advancements in your sector?

Besides offering a comprehensive portfolio of string inverters and solutions for residential, commercial and utility scale PV systems, GoodWe is committed to research and manufacturing of energy storage solutions and smart energy management system. The brand new three- phase high voltage energy storage inverter GoodWe ET Series enables enhanced energy independence and maximizes self-consumption through export limit feature and time of use shifts for reduced electric bills. Covering a power range of 5 kW, 8 kW and 10 kW, it allows up to 100% oversizing to maximize power output and features Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) function to inductive loads such as air conditioners or refrigerators with an automatic switchover time of less than 10 milliseconds. While GoodWe Smart Energy Management System (SEMS) is a comprehensive platform for visualizing and monitoring all kinds of power plants. The main focus of the system is to improve O&M efficiency by establishing an intelligent warning system which provides quick troubleshooting solution to underperforming power plants. SEMS also generates customized charts and tables to facilitate data analysis. This cost-free system will allow customers to overview their power plants via web or smartphone application.

What are your growth plans for the Indian market?

We have already set up an office in Mumbai, with 10 staff on board. This year, we are looking to take around 4-5% market share in India. Our local team will increase to 30 employees next year, and we are targeting an increase of sales by 100% in 2019.
