Malaysian construction company Advancecon Holdings Bhd’s unit Advancecon Solar Sdn Bhd has entered a memorandum of understanding with Peritone Health Sdn Bhd to develop a rooftop solar photovoltaic system for self-consumption.
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the photovoltaic system will be located on the rooftop of Peritone’s premises in Kulim Hi Tech Park in Kedah. Under the terms of the agreement, Advancecon Solar will construct the 461.12kWp solar photovoltaic system and own it through the terms of the power purchase agreement and lease agreement.
The ownership, operations and maintenance of the system will be transferred to Peritone after the expiration of the agreements.
“The Board of Directors of the Company is of the opinion that the MOU will have a positive impact on the business of Adv Solar and is in the best interest of the Advancecon Group,” it said.
Advancecon earlier stated that it it has signed a memorandum of understanding with YHI Manufacturing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for a 2.66 MWp rooftop solar system to be installed at YHI’s facility in Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Rambai, in the state of Malacca. The two companies will have a supply agreement with Malaysia’s utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
Recently, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Malaysian multinational electricity company signed two large-scale solar (LSS) photovoltaic power purchase agreements (PPAs) with special purpose companies (SPCs) set up by the successful bidders.
The successful bidders are Coara Solar Sdn Bhd and ib vogt GmbH with their SPC Coara Marang Sdn Bhd (100 MWAC) in Marang, Terengganu as well as TTL Energy Sdn Bhd and ENGIE Energie Services SA their SPC Kerian Solar Sdn Bhd (100 MWAC) in Kerian, Perak.
Each of the SPCs will design, construct, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic energy generating facility with the approved capacity at its proposed location.
