B.Grimm Power, a SET-listed company has teamed up with Amata Corporation, One of the second largest industrial land developers in Thailand. The operator will develop a smart city in a major industrial area.
The company will build a smart grid or distributed power generation system in the industrial area which is part of its plans to expand electricity-related businesses.
“The need to strengthen the company’s position in the field because the trend of smart grid management is coming” Preeya Art Soontornwata, B.Grimm Power president stated.
The smart city is based on a sustainable concept, with energy management and technology that promotes environmentally friendly operation at its core.
Areas nominated for smart city development include Amata City Chonburi covering 43.3 square kilometres. The area has 772 tenants and factories and 212,741 employees. The other project is Amata City Rayong which covers 27 sq km, with 364 tenants and factories and 62,864 employees.
According to B.Grimm, the cooperation with Amata will be similar to another energy project in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
Amata is the largest listed conglomerate in the industrial estate sector of Stock Exchange of Thailand; and it currently operates several prime sites in Thailand and Vietnam – with more in development in Myanmar and Laos, it has built a strong regional platform which serves a global over 1,300 customers. The Amata family includes numerous Global Fortune 500 (2018) companies, including Toyota Motor, Cardinal Health, BMW Group, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, Nestle, Bosch Group, Hitachi, Sony, BASF, PepsiCo, Toyota Tsusho, Posco, Nippon Steel, Continental, Denso, Sumitomo, Mitsubishi Electric, Magna International, Mitsubishi Chemical, Bridgestone, Idemitsu Kosan and Sumitomo Electric.
