India’s Lowest Solar Tariff Hits New Record of ₹2/kWh
The Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 1,070 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan has set a record-low lowest tariff of ₹2 /kWh, according to sources. The tender was oversubscribed by 3,280 MW as SECI has received bids from 14 companies for 4,350 MW. The record-breaking tariff was bided by Aljomaih Energy and Water Co and Green Infra Wind Energy Limited for 200 MW and 400 MW respectively. The second-lowest bid of ₹2.01 /kWh was quoted by NTPC Limited for 600 MW of projects.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has recently floated a tender for the supply of 286,000 multicrystalline solar photovoltaic (PV) cells. The last date of bids submission is 12-12-2020. According to the document the dimensions of the cell should be 157×157 ± 1.0mm in and 220 microns thick ± 20 microns. The cells should range between 4.52W and 4.82W and must be five bus bars long.
