Macquarie’s Green Investment Group Launches New European Solar Energy Company, Cero Generation

• Cero Generation will deliver utility-scale and on-site generation projects, as well as integrated energy storage solutions, across Europe
• With more than 8 GW under development across 150 projects, Cero is launched with one of Europe’s largest solar development portfolios.

Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) launches Cero Generation (Cero), a specialist solar energy company working across Europe to support the transition to a net-zero future.

Consolidating GIG’s existing, and future, European solar activities, Cero is home to one of the largest solar development portfolios in the region. Its current 8 GW portfolio contains over 150 projects located in the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, France and the Netherlands.

Based across these six markets, Cero’s team of over 40 energy experts work alongside local partners to bring world class industrial, commercial and technical expertise to its projects and clients. The team, led by CEO Nikolaj Harbo, is drawn from GIG’s highly experienced European development team.

In North America and the Asia-Pacific region, GIG’s solar development activities are delivered through Savion LLC and Blueleaf Energy respectively. Together with Cero, these platforms are progressing a global pipeline of over 20 GW of solar energy projects.
