Lixil Corp To Install 5-MW Solar Plant On Thailand Factory Rooftop

Lixil Corp which is a Tokyo-based manufacturer of building materials and housing equipment announced that it will install a 5-MW solar plant on the roof of an aluminium factory in Thailand.

The photovoltaic (PV) power facility is expected to come into operation in October 2021 itself.

The solar installation will be done on top of the Tostem production base for Lixil Housing Technology (LHT), which manufactures about 30% of the group’s aluminium building materials. Post the installation, Tostem’s renewable energy consumption ratio will be 8.5% and it will achieve a reduction in its annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of some 4,000 tonnes. The company aims to become carbon neutral by 2050.
