Meghalaya Government issued an EOI for the empanelment of developers for setting up renewable energy projects including hydro, solar, wind, and biomass power projects under different models in the state.
The projects will be developed either under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model, or the design, build, operate, and transfer (DBOT) category, or the power purchase agreement (PPA) model.
The scope of work for the empaneled developers will include the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning and operation for a period of 25 to 40 years on the BOOT/BOOM/PPA Model in the state.
The revised final date to submit the bids is 30.5.2021
Opening of EOI is on 31.5.2021
The successful bidder will also have to take care of the operation and maintenance activities of the projects for 40 years for hydropower projects and 25 years for solar, wind, and biomass projects. The successful bidder will also be responsible for the possible evacuation arrangement to the nearest 33/11 kV substation.
Power Department shall invite bids from prospective developers who are willing to set up Hydro/Solar/Wind/Biomass power project on BOOT/BOOM/PPA Model in the State of Meghalaya. Power Department will assist in providing Land for setting up of Hydro/Solar/Wind/biomass Projects.
The projects would be technology agnostic within the technology approved by the Power department or its designated authority.
Only commercially established and operational technologies can be used, to minimise the technology risk and to achieve the timely commissioning of projects.
