Govt Names Suman Sharma as Next Managing Director of SECI

Suman Sharma has been appointed as Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. She has been appointed to the post at the Joint Secretary level.

The official statement said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of the new MD of SECI, a central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Sharma is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 1990-batch and currently posted as Additional DGFT in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Department of Commerce.

As MD of SECI, Sharma will be the chief executive of the corporation. She will be accountable to its board of directors and government and shareholders. She will also be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.

She will replace Jatindra Nath Swain who is currently serving as the chairman and MD of the company.
