Reading Time: 1 minutes

SolarizEgypt will power the Makadi Heights town with a solar plant. Makadi Heights town was built by Orascom Development on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, around the Hurghada beach resort.

The solar park will have 3,640 solar panels installed on a 15,000 square metres area and will generate 3,304 MWh of electricity every year. The power plant will be completed at the beginning of 2023 and will supply 20% of the total energy needs of Makadi Heights.

An initial investment of around $1.14 million will be made and the project will be financed by local banks through a program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

SolarizEgypt will design, commission, install and operate the solar power plant for 25 years of a time period. The company has solar projects of more than 50 MW as of now.

SolarizEgypt is an EPC (Energy Procurement Construction) certified company that finances, designs, installs, and commissions PV (Photovoltaic) solar power plants. The company is working on converting Egypt’s golden deserts with solar panels and unlocking its massive energy potential took off in 2013.
