RRECL, THDC Sign MoU To Set Up 10,000 MW Solar Park in Rajasthan

Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC India Limited) on Friday signed an MoU with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL) to set up 10,000 MW solar power park in Rajasthan.

The project will be completed in five years at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore.

The memorandum was signed by Rajiv Vishnoi, THDC CMD, and Subodh Agrawal, Additional Secretary Power and CMD RRECL.

Agrawal stated that barren, infertile land will be leased to the project to produce 17,000 crore units electricity.

He said that similar experiments were carried out in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, which had a positive impact on Rajasthan’s economy.

Vishnoi stated that there is a lot to be done in the area of renewable energy. THDC India Ltd will use its strengths in a better manner to capitalize on these opportunities.
