Azure Power, India’s leading independent power producer and sustainable energy solutions provider, signed an Expression of Interest with Government of Karnataka in order to develop solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects totaling 1700 MW.
The total investment commitment amounts to INR 13,300 crore.
The EoI was signed during the Windergy India2022 event between Azure Power, Government of Karnataka represented by Shri G. Kumar Naik IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of the state energy department.
Azure Power has a strong presence in Karnataka and owns or operates nearly 2900 MW worth of renewable energy assets.
Pawan Kumar Agrawal (CFO, Azure Power) commented on the announcement and said that “we are extremely happy to sign the EoI agreement with Government of Karnataka.
The state is a leader in clean energy adoption. It has the largest installed renewable energy capacity. This EoI strengthens India’s commitment to developing high-performing grid-scale renewable energy assets and contributing towards India’s decarbonization efforts.
