The solar pilot project will be conducted in partnership with Xfloat, an Israeli company which developed the system.

This photovoltaic system, which is floating on water reservoirs, can track and move the sun. It is based on machine learning capabilities, continuous refining of rich data acquisition, and optimized performance to maximize performance according to Xfloat.

According to the IIA and the Ministry, the system is capable of generating high levels of power and can withstand extreme weather and environmental changes.

“As part of the cooperation, Xfloat’s floating panels will be installed on Mekorot’s water reservoirs,” Shir Azaraf, a spokeswoman for the Finance Ministry.

“The electricity generated this way could be used by everybody, including industrial plants and home consumers, because the process is cheap and clean,” she added.
