Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s ambassador to the European Union meets Cadre Simson, Commissioner of the European Union for Energy. Discussions related to renewable energy, climate change, green transformation, etc took place.
Egypt is looking to become a hub for energy production, distribution as well as trading. The meeting had a discussion on ways to strengthen the partnership between the EU and Egypt in green hydrogen especially.
They also discussed cooperating in the power generation field from solar and wind energy sources and also the production and export of green hydrogen.
Egypt will host COP27 in November in Sharm el-Sheikh.
