MNRE Issues Notification Regarding Extension of PM-KUSUM Scheme
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has notified the extension of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Utthaan Mahabhiyan’s (PM-KUSUM), scheme until March 31, 2026. This extension was made keeping in mind that the targets for each component will remain the same and allows inter-se transferable quantities across Components B and C. These amendments state that central finance assistance (CFA), will be available to farmers for pump capacity up 15 HP under Components-B and Component-C. The north eastern states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh will be eligible for this CFA. The CFA for pumps with a maximum power output of 15 HP will be restricted to 10% of total installations. For feeder level solarisation under Components C, the domestic content requirements for solar cells have been removed for projects that were awarded by the implementing agency before June 20,2023. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a budget allocation in the amount of Rs 100 Billion.
MNRE Extends Implementation Date of Quality Control Order, 2017 For SPV inverters to 31st December 2022
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has extended the date for implementation of Quality Control Order, 2017 for SPV inverters (items 4-5) from 30th June 2022 to 31st December 2022 based on self-certification, subject to the condition that such manufacturers have valid electrotechnical commission (IEC) accreditation and test report from international test labs for the smooth implementation of the order. This extension was granted due to the availability of limited testing facilities and because it allows for more time for compliance with the order.
PM Launches National Portal for Rooftop Solar and RDSS
The PM launched the national portal for Rooftop solar, which will enable online tracking of the process of installation of rooftop solar plants, starting from registering the applications to release of subsidy in residential consumers’ (‘beneficiaries’) bank account after installation and inspection of the plant. With the launch of this portal, tthe consumers will have the choice to select, any vendor registered with the local distribution company, solar modules of equality and efficiency, solar inverter and other balance of plants and equipment. The process of registration of vendors with the discom is also simplified as now they have to just submit a declaration along with a PBG amount of Rs. 0.25 million for getting registered. Vendors can provide their information and rates on the portal for consumers to reach them. All the updates can be tracked online in the portal right from registration of the application to release of subsidy in the bank account of the consumer.
Govt Prepares Draft Hydrogen Mission Document
According to the Minister, the draft mission proposes a framework for demand creation, a basket of measures to support the production and utilisation of green hydrogen and support for indigenous manufacturing. Besides, it also includes research and development work, pilot projects, enabling policies and regulations, and infrastructure development.
