GSECL Floats Tender for 220 MW Grid Connected Solar Projects In Gujarat

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) has issued RFP document for EPC package with land & connectivity for development of AC grid connected solar photovoltaic power projects up-to capacity of 220 MW anywhere in Gujarat under GUVNL Rfs (Phase XVI) including Comprehensive operation & maintenance for Ten (10) years. Bid Validity is of 120 days from the date of opening of the Technical Bid of the tender. Last date for submitting bids is August 17, 2022. The bids will open on the same day.

Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 Introduced by Centre in Lok Sabha

A bill to amend the Electricity Act to allow non-discriminatory open access to distribution networks of power suppliers was introduced in Lok Sabha amid protests by the opposition, which claimed that it seeks to take away certain rights of state governments. The farmers will continue to get free power.There will be no roll back of subsidy,” Minister Singh said amid calls for wider consultations on the measure. We have consulted the states and other stakeholders. This bill is pro-people and pro-farmers, Singh said as he introduced the Bill.

MSEDCL Invites Bids for Procurement of 250 MW Flexible and Schedulable RE Power with Storage Facility

In order to fulfil the renewable power purchase obligation (RPO) and to cater to the power demand of the State experiencing intra-day variations, MSEDCL intends to procure flexible and schedulable power which can be supplied to meet peak demand/varying demand requirement during the day. With the objective to promote Renewable Energy with energy storage facility for optimal and efficient utilization of transmission infrastructure and land, reducing the variability in renewable power generation and achieving better grid stability, MSEDCL envisages to procure 250 MW Flexible and Schedulable Power through Competitive Bidding Process followed by EReverse Auction from Grid Connected Renewable Energy Sources with Energy Storage Facility on Long Term Basis with green shoe option of additional 250 MW followed by ereverse auction.

GSECL Invites Bids For 20 MW Grid Connected Solar Plant

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has floated a tender for Design, Engineering, Supply & procurement, construction, erection, testing, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance of 20 MW Solar Photovoltaic grid connected power plant at Itiya of Bhavnagar District around substation of GETCO in the State of Gujarat. The deadline for bid submission is September 3, 2022 and the bids will be opened on September 9. It is estimated that the tender will cost approximately Rs 80 Crores.

GUVNL Tenders for 500 MW/1000 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems in Gujarat

GUVNL seeks to utilize energy storage systems, on a “On-Demand” basis, suited to the requirements of the State DISCOMs during the peak and off-peak hours. In view of the above, GUVNL hereby wishes to invite proposals for setting up of Pilot Projects of Standalone Battery EnergyStorage Systems (BESS) connected with the State Grid, for an aggregate storage capacity of 1000 MWh (500 MW x 2 hrs) with complete 2 cycles charging/discharging operation of BESS. GUVNL shall enter into a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with the successful Bidders selected based on this RfS, for providing Energy Storage facility to GUVNL as per the terms, conditions and provisions of the RfS and BESPA.

Cabinet Approves India’s Updated Nationally Determined Contribution

The Union Cabinet approved India’s updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement, incorporating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Panchamrit’ strategy announced at the Glasgow conference into enhanced climate targets. According to the updated NDC, India now stands committed to reducing emissions intensity of its GDP by 45 per cent by 2030, from 2005 level, and achieving about 50 per cent cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030.

Lok Sabha Passes Bill to Promote Non-fossil Fuels

A bill seeking to mandate the use of non-fossil energy sources such as biomass, ethanol and green hydrogen was passed by the Lok Sabha. Piloting the Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, Power Minister R K Singh said “this is the bill for the future,” and urged the members to approve it. The bill was later passed by the House after rejecting amendments moved by some Opposition members. The Minister said the renewable energy capacity addition in the country was fastest in the world. The Bill provides for penalties for violations by industrial units or vessels, and on manufacturers if a vehicle fails to comply with fuel consumption norms.

BHEL Issues O&M Tender for 100 MW Solar Power Plant at GSECL, Gujarat

BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED (BHEL) invites tenders for Technical Operation and Maintenance works of 100 MW Solar Photovoltaic Grid-connected Power plant at GSECL, Raghanesda Solar Park Phase-I, Gujrat for a period of 120 months. The last date to submit the bid is 22 August 2022, till 1:00 PM and bids will be opened on the same day at 2.00 PM. Estimated Value of the project is Rs. 11,13,33,500/- plus GST as applicable.

BPCL Floats Tender To Employ Contractor For 14 MW Solar Project Development

At its Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is to build up a 14 MW grid-connected solar power plant on a turnkey basis, for which they have invited bids to hire a contractor. The last date for proposal submissions is August 24, 2022, which is also the bid opening date. Bidders are required to provide Rs. 500,000 as an earnest money deposit. For this project, BPCL has authorized Slnko Energy with providing project management consultation. Slnko will prepare the tender, carry out the technical and commercial examination of bids, get clarification from bidders, and ultimately suggest hiring a contractor.

ISA Floats Tender for 1150 MW Solar Project in Cuba

In partnership with the Cuban government, the International Solar Alliance (ISA), has launched a tender to establish 1150 MW solar plant. An ISA statement stated that the project management consultant for ISA is state-owned NTPC. Cuba plans to build 2100 MW solar projects. This will reduce the dependence on diesel generators that are polluting and increase its green energy portfolio. To ensure grid reliability, it also includes the construction of 150 MWh/150 MWh storage. The ISA and NTPC have been working with Cuban officials and engineers to ensure the success of the tender, the statement said.

KSEB Invites Bids To Empanel Developers For Installing Floating Solar Projects

The Kerala State Electrical Energy Board (KSEB) has issued a request for proposals to choose solar developers for a three-year contract to set up grid-connected floating solar projects on water bodies and reservoirs. The deadline for bid submissions is August 29, 2022. The opening of bids is set for 1 September. The project will be built under a build-own-operate strategy for a period of 25 years. Surveying, evaluating the potential, and building grid-connected floating solar projects are included in the scope of work. Additionally, the developers will be in charge of the operation, maintenance, and potential evacuation of electricity as well as the preparations for its transmission up to the closest substation or pooling station selected by KSEB.
