Line Investments & Property LLC is the shopping mall as well as the management division of Lulu Group. It announces the launch of a 1MWp solar carport as well as 4 EV Charging Stations at Silicon Central. These stations were installed early in the year by SirajPower. This was part of the mall’s sustainability initiatives.

The 5,500 square meters solar carport project will generate 1.7 GWh annually of clean energy. This is equivalent to over 1205 metric tons of CO2 emissions. It also offsets nearly 20,000 tree seedlings planted for 10 years. Silicon Central, a brand-new development, boasts an area of 80,000 square meters of retail, F&B, and cinemas. It also includes a Lulu Hypermarket covering 9,000 square meters and a department store that spans 7,800 square meters. The total area of Silicon Central is 16,800 square meters.

Salim M.A., Director of Lulu Group International, said, “With the solar carport as an environmentally friendly project at Silicon central, we are committed towards a healthy and sustainable future and fully support the region’s vision to mitigate carbon emissions to create a more sustainable economy. The solar plant system is a testimony to our commitment to sustainable development and to reducing its carbon footprint, in line with Dubai’s vision to transform into a carbon-neutral economy by 2050.”

Salim said, “This initiative will assist us in shifting to clean energy via the innovative solar carport solution. We will also continue our efforts toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions by using state-of-the-art technologies for waste management and energy savings.”

Apart from providing power for the Lulu Group’s Dubai Silicon Central Mall, the Dubai Silicon Central Mall will also offer shaded car parking and charging slots for electric vehicles. This facility will reduce carbon dioxide emissions at the mall.
