The Draft Policy to Promote Green Hydrogen was published by the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
This policy promotes growth and employment within the state, while prioritising decarbonisation as well as the state’s contribution towards India’s climate goals. The policy will support consumption, production, market creation, as well as other elements of the green hydrogen/ammonia value-chain.
This policy aims to make it easier for businesses to set up and promote investments in green hydrogen/ammonia manufacturing facilities and green hydrogen-based product production units. To encourage innovation in green hydro/ammonia production technology and to lower the price of green hydrogen/ammonia.
The policy will remain in effect and valid for five years, or until amended or notified by the government.
