Esri India is a global leader in geographic information systems (GIS) solutions and has launched an app to increase awareness of carbon footprint at individual levels.
The ‘Carbon Jagruk’ or ‘CarbonAware’ app, which will be made available in Hindi as well as in English, would allow citizens to calculate and reduce their carbon footprint. According to the company, the application is easy to use, does not require login or downloading, and does not collect any personal information.
“Bringing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions down to zero by 2070 in an effort to prevent the worst effects of climate changes such as drought, flooding and loss of species is the best way for us to go as a nation. Esri India’s Carbon Aware App helps people to think, curb, and regulate their carbon footprint.” said Agendra Kumar, Managing Director, Esri India.
He said that it will assist people in moving towards an eco-conscious and sustainable lifestyle.
This app will allow you to estimate the causes of a greater carbon footprint at the local level. Kumar said that Esri India will share the data with local authorities to help educate citizens.
