MNRE Issues Extension of Deadline for Self-Certification of Solar Inverters to June 30, 2023

The deadline to comply with and implement the Quality Control Order 2017, for solar photovoltaic Inverters, has been extended by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). It will now be June 30, 2023.

The Central Government had issued “Solar Photovoltaics, Systems, Devices and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017” on 5.9.2017. Whereas, self- certification for SPV inverters was extended up to 31.12.2022.

In view of the availability of limited test facilities and providing more time for compliance, the implementation of Quality Control Order, 2017 for SPV inverters is now extended from 31.12.2022 to 30.06.2023 or till further orders.

The notification states that the manufacturers must have valid International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) certificates and test reports from accredited labs for smooth implement the order.
