Unicharm Corporation (CEO and President, Mr. Takahisa Takahara) announces that their local manufacturing plant in Malaysia, DSG (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. With the installation of these solar power generation systems, the Malaysia Plant (installed in late December 2022) will generate 2.18 million kWh per year.
This will be the seventh and eighth plant that Unicharm Group has introduced renewable electricity at its overseas plants, following Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam, the U.S.A., China, and Indonesia. In Japan, Unicharm’s Itami, Mie, and Unicharm Products’ Kyushu and Shikoku, and Peparlet’s three Shizuoka plants have already introduced renewable electricity.
Through these efforts, we expect to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions from Unicharm Group plants by approximately 52,480 tons per year.
