CREST Tenders for Two Floating Solar Projects with Combined Capacity of 5.5 MW

The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST) has announced two tenders for the installation and commissioning of 5.5 MW of floating solar projects with power evacuation on the high tension (HT) side of Tank 1, Tank 2, Tank 5, and Tank 6 of Water Works in Sector 39, Chandigarh.

The deadline for bid submission is March 6, 2023, and the successful bidder will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the projects for ten years.

The projects must be completed within four months of the work order being issued.

Both tenders require bidders to submit an undertaking regarding the minimum expected electrical energy generation of 1,400 kWh/kW system on the HT side for the first year. A 1% decrease in the minimum expected electrical energy generation due to module degradation will be allowed from the second year onwards. CREST has mandated that the solar modules used for the projects must be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The first tender is for 3 MW (2 X 1.5 MW) floating solar projects with power evacuation on the HT side of tank numbers 5 and 6 of Water Works in Sector 39, Chandigarh, and its estimated cost is ₹17.8 crore. Bidders must submit ₹36 lakh as an earnest money deposit, and the successful bidder must provide a performance bank guarantee equivalent to 3% of the project cost within 15 days of the work order being issued.

The second tender is for 2.5 MW ( 2 X 1.25 MW) grid-connected floating solar projects with high power evacuation on the HT side of tank numbers 1 and 2 of Water Works in Sector 39, Chandigarh, and its estimated cost is ₹14.71 crore. Bidders must submit ₹29 lakh as an earnest money deposit, and the successful bidder must provide a performance bank guarantee equivalent to 3% of the project cost within 15 days of the work order being issued. The technical criteria remain the same as the first tender.
