Madayn Signs Agreement With Solar Wadi For 100-MW Solar PV Plant In Suhar Industrial City, Oman

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, or Madayn, signed an agreement with an Oman renewable energy company, Solar Wadi for the allocation of land in Suhar Industrial City for the construction of a 100-MW solar PV plant.ย This agreement was signed during celebrations commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of Suhar Industrial City.

Madayn 2040 Vision will establish the project as part of Madaynโ€™s comprehensive strategy to supply a large portion of its tenants’ energy needs from a sustainable source. As the station provides sustainable energy solutions to the economic and social environment of all investors in Suhar Industrial City that rely on renewable solar energy, it aims at lowering the cost of electricity to tenants in Suhar Industrial City.

Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones, as well as Free Zones, Dr. Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, was also present during the ceremony. The total investment in Suhar Industrial City is RO 2.300 billion. There are more than 360 industrial projects on an area of 29 million square metres.
