Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has won the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish an Inter-State Transmission System for the “Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for Evacuation of Power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-E” on a Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) basis.
According to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, Power Grid Corporation has been declared as the successful bidder.
The company received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on March 7th, 2023. As part of the project, a 765kV D/c Transmission Line will be established, along with associated Line Bays in the state of Rajasthan.

Earlier in the week, The Power Ministry in India has established a task force to provide recommendations on the modernization of the transmission sector and make it smart and future-ready. The committee was chaired by the CMD of Power Grid and included representatives from State Transmission Utilities, Central Electricity Authority, Central Transmission Utilities, MeiTY, IIT Kanpur, NSGPMU, and EPTA.
