NHPC, SJVN Green Energy, and NTPC Renewable Energy have won the auction conducted by the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) to supply power from 600 MW of grid-connected solar power projects at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat.
The developers can also avail of a greenshoe option of an additional 600 MW.
NHPC won 200 MW, SJVN Green Energy won 200 MW, and NTPC Renewable Energy won 200 MW and bidders have quoted tariffs of ₹2.73/kWh, ₹2.88/kWh, and ₹2.89/kWh, respectively. NTPC Renewable Energy has quoted 400 MW capacity but secured 200 MW under the bucket-filling method.
The project will be commissioned by GUVNL under Phase XVII. GUVNL will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date of the project.
The auction was held in September 2022, and the successful The grid-connected solar power projects will contribute towards achieving India’s target of 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022.
