Tata Power Secures ₹1,744 Crore Contract for Smart Metering Project in Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited

Tata Power has recently received a Letter of Award (LOA) to carry out a smart metering project in Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL).

 The LOA was issued as a result of a tender floated by CSPDCL for three different packages covering various areas within the Chhattisgarh Discom. Tata Power participated in package 2 and emerged as the successful bidder. The project, valued at approximately ₹1,744 crore, is scheduled to be executed over a span of 10 years.

The contract entails the implementation of a Smart Metering project in Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited. Dr. Sinha emphasized that this achievement highlights Tata Power’s exceptional execution capabilities in delivering specialized and high-value projects, ultimately aimed at revolutionizing the power distribution sector.

Tata Power’s latest undertaking in Chhattisgarh encompasses a wide range of activities, including the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and subsequent operation and maintenance of smart meters. These smart meters will be deployed both at the consumer end and at the Distribution Transformers level. The project is being carried out under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and is anticipated to have a positive impact on reducing Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses within the designated area, while simultaneously boosting revenue collection for Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL).
