FDC Green Energy Corporation, which is a part of the Filinvest Group and a subsidiary of FDC Utilities Inc., is presently engaged in the construction of a solar power project with a capacity of 11.5 megawatts within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate located in Misamis Oriental province, Philippines.
The PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate is a significant economic zone in the country that will soon benefit from access to renewable energy through this initiative.
After being awarded a solar energy operating contract by the Department of Energy, Filinvest has committed over half a billion pesos to invest in this project, which is expected to operate for 25 years.
By implementing this solar power project, the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate can attract more businesses seeking eco-friendly energy alternatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to Juan Eugenio Roxas, the president and chief executive of FDC Utilities Inc. and FDC Green Energy Corp.
As part of the project’s permitting process, FDCGEC has registered as a PHIVIDEC locator.
Joseph Donato Bernedo, the administrator of the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate, emphasized the timeliness and relevance of this project in addressing climate change challenges, aligning with the government’s push for a shift towards clean and renewable energy sources.
