PVH, a renowned global solar tracker manufacturer and supplier has executed a supply contract with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), pertaining to the supply of 805 MW for a solar project situated in Ar Rass, a city located within Saudi Arabia’s Qassim province.
Integral to the National Renewable Energy Program, the project falls under the aegis of the Saudi Kingdom’s Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources (MEIM). Positioned as a pivotal initiative within the overarching framework of “Saudi Vision 2030,” the venture takes a strategic stride towards advancing the nation’s sustainable energy goals.
“Ar Rass is an important milestone in PVH’s trajectory in Saudi Arabia” said Surmai Kaushik, VP Sales, AMEA at PVH. “In large projects like this we showcase the strength that local manufacturing and expertise of working in extremely harsh environment brings to our products and onsite services. We have worked very hard to ensure that our product showcases the most optimized design working alongside the EPC to lower the LCOE while maximizing the local content”.
All solar trackers for the Ar Rass project will come from PVH’s recently inaugurated factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This facility has been revamped with cutting-edge manufacturing processes. Serving as the company’s second manufacturing hub, it stands alongside the original factory in Valencia, Spain, where PVH’s headquarters are situated. This year, a third production center in Houston has joined these ranks, bolstering the company’s production capacity to over 20 GW annually.
Specifically engineered to withstand elevated temperatures and sandstorms, these trackers have advanced safety features for stable operation and corrosion resistance, promising a life expectancy of 25 years. This monumental project is projected to power approximately 132,000 homes and offset 1.5 million tons of emissions annually.
With a strong track record of over 28 GW deployed across five continents and a global market share exceeding 10%, PVH retains its stature as the premier tracker manufacturer in Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. This partnership further cements the ongoing collaboration between PVH and L&T, a partnership that has already cultivated an impressive 8 GW pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
