The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has recently disclosed its roster of approved vendors categorized by states to spearhead the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop and ground-mounted solar power projects. These projects, with a capacity of up to 5 MW, are set to be executed under two distinct categories.

Category A focuses on residential solar projects, with implementation facilitated by state agencies. Among the 23 empaneled rooftop solar installation companies are Ganesh Electricals, Gensol Engineering, Ghanpriya Energy Solutions, and Goldi Solar. These vendors are entrusted with managing the operational and maintenance aspects of projects for a five-year term.

Category B encompasses projects for government bodies, operating under both the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) models. Among the 27 vendors selected for the CAPEX model are Enerture Technologies, Prudential Green Energy, and Moopens Energy Solutions. Similarly, 16 vendors, including HFM Solar Power and Oriana Power, have been enlisted under the RESCO model. These vendors will be responsible for project maintenance for a five-year period.

For Category A, the second stage of the bidding process, overseen by state implementing agencies, will lead to the selection and approval of projects. Under Category B, the first stage will involve issuing a limited tender to the pre-approved vendors. Rigorous evaluations will determine their technical and commercial eligibility, with tariffs quoted in electronic financial bids forming the basis for bidder evaluation.

In a parallel initiative, SECI previously announced a list of Empaneled Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors in June this year. The list pertains to a 50 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project for government buildings across various states, operating under the RESCO model.

SECI’s initiatives underscore India’s commitment to scaling up its renewable energy infrastructure and fostering sustainable energy solutions across diverse sectors.
