Ayana Renewable Power, Backed by NIIF, to Develop 330 MW Renewable Energy Capacity (100 MW RE-RTC) for Hindalco

Ayana Renewable Power, a prominent Independent Power Producer (IPP) in India, has inked a significant Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hindalco Industries Limited, a leading metals company under the Aditya Birla Group. The agreement entails the supply of 100 MW of Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy to Hindalco’s smelter plants located in Odisha.

This milestone project solidifies Ayana’s commitment to evolving into a demand-driven energy solution provider and supports their vision of becoming India’s most cost-efficient power supplier, harnessing a unique blend of solar, wind, and pumped hydro technologies. With this addition, Ayana’s cumulative capacity under management now stands at nearly 5 GW, encompassing operations, maintenance, and development, reinforcing their pioneering role in India’s energy transition landscape.

Shivanand Nimbargi, the MD & CEO of Ayana Renewable Power, emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “At Ayana Renewable Power, we are resolutely committed to steering India’s energy transition journey. Our latest project marks a pivotal milestone as we deliver 100 MW of uninterrupted, carbon-free power round-the-clock – a pioneering feat in the industrial segment.”

Notably, this initiative marks a groundbreaking achievement in the aluminum industry, which demands a continuous and reliable power supply. It represents one of the first instances globally of delivering round-the-clock renewable energy from solar and wind sources. Ayana has been at the forefront of promoting RTC solutions in India and recently secured a tender from REMCL to supply 300 MW of RTC power to a Joint Venture company of the Ministry of Railways and RITES Ltd.

This partnership not only underscores the growing shift towards sustainable energy solutions but also reinforces Ayana Renewable Power’s position as a trailblazer in India’s evolving energy landscape.
