Jakson Green and Deendayal Port Authority Forge INR 2400 Crore Partnership for State-of-the-Art Green Ammonia Facility in Gujarat

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainable energy solutions, Jakson Green Private Limited, the dynamic energy transition platform backed by India’s Infrastructure and Renewables powerhouse, Jakson Group, has entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the esteemed Deendayal Port Authority. This strategic partnership is set to pave the way for the establishment of a state-of-the-art green ammonia facility valued at approximately INR 2400 Crore in Kandla Port, Gujarat.

The state-of-the-art green ammonia facility will be developed in multiple phases, with an impressive projected annual production capacity of 133,000 tons of green ammonia. What’s more, this ambitious endeavor is poised to create over 5000 jobs, including operations and maintenance roles, contributing significantly to economic growth in the region.

The MOU was officially inked by Mr. Krishnan Kannan, Joint Managing Director of Jakson Green, and Shri Sushil Chandra Nahak, Chief Mechanical Engineer at Deendayal Port Authority. The signing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries from relevant ministries and the state government.

Under the terms of this collaboration, the Deendayal Port Authority will play a pivotal role in assisting Jakson Green in securing the necessary registrations, approvals, clearances, and providing incentives, among other forms of support.

Mr. Krishnan Kannan, Joint Managing Director of Jakson Green, expressed his enthusiasm for this transformative partnership, highlighting the project’s significance in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the maritime industry. He underscored that this venture aligns perfectly with Jakson Green’s sustainable energy vision and underscores their unwavering commitment to driving India’s energy transition. Additionally, he emphasized that the project would act as a catalyst for both economic growth and the well-being of the local community.

The MOU was signed on the sidelines of the 2023 Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS), which focused on the maritime industry’s role in greenhouse gas emissions and the potential of renewable energy in decarbonizing the sector. This collaboration between Jakson Green and the Deendayal Port Authority represents a monumental step forward in India’s sustainable energy transition, with green ammonia poised to play a pivotal role in achieving these ambitious goals.
