SPDA’s Rebranding Reflects Its Expanded Role in the Energy Transition Spectrum

SPDA, formerly known as an independent industry association dedicated to advancing the renewable energy sector, has announced a strategic rebranding initiative. The association will now be known as the ‘Sustainable Projects Developers Association’ to better reflect its expanded focus on the entire clean energy ecosystem, beyond pure-play renewable energy.

SPDA has been at the forefront of promoting emerging decarbonization solutions, including green hydrogen and its derivatives, wind and solar energy, hybrid solutions, energy storage such as pumped storage and batteries, carbon markets, solar module manufacturing, and electrolyzer manufacturing. This rebrand signifies its commitment to becoming an end-to-end provider of solutions across the decarbonization spectrum.

The association’s mission is to drive policy advocacy, facilitate discussions, and build consensus on matters related to the energy transition. Over the years, SPDA has played a pivotal role in accelerating the transition to green energy and aiding in policy development to create a conducive environment for renewable energy and green fuel projects in India.

Mr. Shekhar Dutt, Director General of SPDA, stated that the association aims to become the voice of companies engaged in energy transition in India and extend its global outreach. This rebranding will strengthen SPDA’s position as a leading organization in the green services space, fostering collaboration with global counterparts and promoting India’s role in the global move toward decarbonization.

SPDA’s President, Mr. Vineet Mittal, emphasized the urgency of addressing climate change and the potential of round-the-clock renewables, green hydrogen, and derivatives to expedite decarbonization efforts.
