In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability, Megabangna Shopping Centre, spanning approximately 400 rai, has invested 1 billion baht to integrate clean solar energy into its operations. Teaming up with WHA Solar from WHA Utilities and Power PLC, Megabangna is harnessing 9.9 megawatts of clean energy through the Solar Rooftop Power Service. This initiative not only reduces carbon footprint but transforms Megabangna into a beacon of eco-friendliness.
WHA Solar’s Solar Rooftop initiative covers 13 buildings, totalling 62,000 sq meters. The solar panels, generating 9.9 megawatts, directly power Megabangna’s systems, from lighting and cooling to security and various facilities. Users within Megabangna now access sustainable energy, marking a significant stride in clean energy adoption.
Initiated by WHA Solar, the project involves site surveys, designs, and a comprehensive proposal. After Megabangna’s approval, a Power Purchase Agreement is signed, kickstarting the solar venture. WHA Solar secures necessary permits, ensuring a seamless supply of electricity to Megabangnaโs power grid.
Efficiency is prioritized with WHA Solar’s dedicated operations team managing after-sales services, including routine maintenance and system inspections. The Real-time Solar Monitoring Platform oversees various projects, ensuring optimal performance. Megabangna’s commitment to clean solar energy is estimated to save over 1,040 million baht in electricity costs over 25 years, offsetting 210,592 million tons of carbon dioxide.
Megabangna’s patrons benefit from products powered by clean solar energy, actively participating in the fight against global warming. The Solar Rooftop system exemplifies a sustainable future, setting a precedent for businesses transitioning to clean energy. WHA Solar’s role in creating a sustainable community aligns with its commitment to Net Zero emissions.
Megabangna Shopping Centre’s embrace of clean solar energy stands as an inspiring example, paving the way for businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. This initiative heralds a cleaner and brighter future for all.
