WHA Solar Powers Megabangna Shopping Centre With Rooftop Solar Energy In Thailand

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability, Megabangna Shopping Centre, spanning approximately 400 rai, has invested 1 billion baht to integrate clean solar energy into its operations. Teaming up with WHA Solar from WHA Utilities and Power PLC, Megabangna is harnessing 9.9 megawatts of clean energy through the Solar Rooftop Power Service. This initiative not only reduces carbon footprint but transforms Megabangna into a beacon of eco-friendliness.

WHA Solar’s Solar Rooftop initiative covers 13 buildings, totalling 62,000 sq meters. The solar panels, generating 9.9 megawatts, directly power Megabangna’s systems, from lighting and cooling to security and various facilities. Users within Megabangna now access sustainable energy, marking a significant stride in clean energy adoption.

Initiated by WHA Solar, the project involves site surveys, designs, and a comprehensive proposal. After Megabangna’s approval, a Power Purchase Agreement is signed, kickstarting the solar venture. WHA Solar secures necessary permits, ensuring a seamless supply of electricity to Megabangna’s power grid.

Efficiency is prioritized with WHA Solar’s dedicated operations team managing after-sales services, including routine maintenance and system inspections. The Real-time Solar Monitoring Platform oversees various projects, ensuring optimal performance. Megabangna’s commitment to clean solar energy is estimated to save over 1,040 million baht in electricity costs over 25 years, offsetting 210,592 million tons of carbon dioxide.
