Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has secured two new Guinness World Records in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, solidifying its global standing in clean and renewable energy.

The records include ‘The Tallest Concentrated Solar Power Tower’ at 263.126 meters and ‘the largest thermal energy storage plant’ at 5,907 megawatt-hours using Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) based on parabolic basin complex with Molten Salt technology. These milestones were achieved in the 950MW 4th phase of the solar park, combining CSP and photovoltaic solar panel technologies.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, received the certificates during COP28 in Dubai, showcasing the UAE’s commitment to sustainable energy practices.

Al Tayer highlighted that these achievements align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasizing DEWA’s dedication to adopting the latest clean and renewable energy technologies.

The 4th phase of the solar park contributes significantly to energy storage, boasting a capacity of 15 hours and ensuring round-the-clock availability of solar energy.
