PNE AG, a leading player in renewable energy, has capped off the year with impressive achievements in Romania and Italy, finalizing negotiations for the sale of significant photovoltaic projects in both nations.
In Romania, PNE successfully sold a project boasting a capacity of 61.5 megawatt peak (MWp). Situated in southern Romania, within one of the nation’s most prolific regions for energy generation, the project, now at construction maturity, was acquired by a local company.
Meanwhile, in Italy, PNE Group completed the sale of multiple PV projects totaling 114 MWp. This package encompasses 12 projects and will be acquired by an infrastructure fund managed by re:cap global investors ag, a prominent international investment advisor specializing in renewable energy infrastructure. Through WKN Italia, a subsidiary of PNE Group, the company will continue to provide support for these projects until they reach construction readiness.
Markus Lesser, CEO of PNE AG, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re delighted to have been able to finalize two more sales in the European markets at the end of the year. The markets appreciate our expertise in the PV sector and place their trust in our experience.”
PNE Group has a longstanding presence in both countries. In Romania, the company has been active for over a decade, successfully developing and selling wind and photovoltaic projects totaling around 571 MW/MWp. In Italy, PNE Group has realized wind projects with a collective capacity of approximately 300 MW since 2006. This recent sale marks the group’s initial venture into PV projects in Italy. Leveraging their seasoned team, PNE aims to expand its photovoltaics operations in Italy while investing in its own portfolio.
This accomplishment underscores PNE AG’s commitment to sustainable energy and solidifies its position as a key player in the European renewable energy landscape.
