The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (TCMPF) has initiated a bidding process to acquire 5 MW of daily power from solar or wind projects, or excess power from generators through open access. The agreement commits the developer to supply a minimum of 20,000 units of power daily, meeting the contractual demand of 30 MW per day and an annual consumption demand of 43.8 GWh.
The deadline for bid submissions is January 28, 2024, with bid opening scheduled for the following day.
The chosen developer, after a successful bid, will need to enter into a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with TCMPF. The PPA’s duration can be extended by an additional ten years with mutual consent.
The chosen developer will be responsible for evacuating the generated power to the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation grid, which will subsequently supply TCMPF facilities.
The tender is expected to be worth approximately ₹350 crores. A ₹200,000 earnest money deposit (EMD) is required of all bidders. Upon successful bidding, firms will be required to sign an agreement and provide a security deposit of ₹250crores within 15 days of receiving the letter of award, valid for 18 months. Firms situated within Tamil Nadu, holding Udyam Registration Certificate or National Small Industries Corporation certificate, may be exempted from paying the EMD.
