NTPC Initiates Tender Process for 0.95 MW Rooftop Solar Projects at Three IOL Units

NTPC has announced a call for bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of grid-connected rooftop solar power projects, totaling 0.95 MW, across 3 units of IOL.

The comprehensive scope of work includes design, testing, and commissioning, along with various ancillary activities such as rooftop strength testing, water arrangements, electricity provisions, security measures, transportation logistics, and an evaluation of potential capacity requirements for the solar projects.

The selected bidder will be responsible for overseeing operations and maintenance activities for a duration of 10 years.

The deadline for bid submissions is January 29, 2024, with bid opening scheduled for January 30, 2024.

Projects must be implemented in areas with minimal shadows to ensure optimal power generation on each building. The final project capacity will adhere to the detailed engineering and approved design for the solar installations.

NTPC plans to finance the project using domestic or internal resources. Bidders are required to provide a bid security of โ‚น5 lakhs, and the completion timeline for the work is set at 60 days.

Prior to bid submission, bidders must visit the project locations to gather essential details for the solar installation. Participation in the bidding process is restricted to Class-I and Class-II local suppliers.

To qualify as a โ€˜Class-I local supplier,โ€™ a bidder/supplier must have a minimum local content of 50%. For โ€˜Class-II local suppliers,โ€™ the requirement for โ€˜local contentโ€™ is a minimum of 20%.

Bidders, including those from India, who have a designated Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement with an entity from a country that shares a land border with India, are eligible to participate in the bidding process only if they are registered with the corresponding competent authority.
