EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge Inc. have informed that Phase 1 of Fox Squirrel Solar, the largest solar complex in Ohio, is completely operational. The plant is scheduled to deliver decarbonized electricity to the PJM grid.
Fox Squirrel Solar, a 749 MWdc/577 MWac ground-mounted solar facility will be constructed in three phases in Madison County, Ohio. The first phase will generate 150 MWac of solar energy.
The solar complex has 1.4 million panels and 159 inverters. Enbridge has invested in the first phase and intends to decide on its final investment decision for the subsequent phases through 2024, provided the fulfillment of certain conditions.
The project also has 20-year power purchase agreements with a strong investment grade counterparty for the full generation capacity and is scheduled to generate enough electricity to support 118,000 average Ohio homes.
